The Guinness Book of World Records, or generally known as Guinness World Records was established in 1955 by Hugh Beaver to record feats of extraordinary nature by people around the world. Published annually, the Guinness Book keeps track of existing records and updates new ones. People say records are meant to be broken, but there are some records which may never be broken, since the people who made these records were born with special talents.
People challenge to break a wide variety of existing records each year. Some are challenging, like most hot-dogs eaten in a minute, while some are downright bizarre, like most toilet seats broken on your head. People train for months, sometimes years in order to achieve such amazing feats. Some succeed, some are near misses and others, well it can get embarrassing sometimes.
It’s amazing to see how tough a human body can be, and how people manipulate their bodies to do the most extreme of things in order to be the very best that they can be. Here are a few records which pushed people’s bodies to their extreme limit:
1. Longest eyelash
Eyelashes are usually enticing and compliment a person’s looks, but You Jianxia of China took it upon herself to grow the longest eyelashes in the world. She grew her eyelashes to an astonishing 4.88 inches (12.40cm), giving him a rather peculiar look. This feat was recorded on 28th June , 2016. Amazing? definitely. Beautiful? Definitely NOT.
